Well, more like the booth. Just watching the Rangers game on TV and Sean Avery joined Josh Lewin and Tom Grieve in the booth at the top of the third. OK, little side note here. I'm sure there are a few folks out there already thinking, "enough with the Avery onslaught already!" Hey, it's been a long summer of not much hockey to talk about, so let me have my day focused on thoughts of nice cold ice and not ridiculously hot temperatures!
I digress. Avery was Avery. On the collision between Ivan Rodriguez and David Murphy: "I've gotten hit harder in a pregame warmup." OK, that ended up being ill-advised since Pudge had to leave the game immediately, and Murphy would leave an inning later.
On his ceremonial first pitch (with Brenden Morrow and Marty Turco trying to give him pointers): "It might have been the six or seven Bud Lights I had before I got out there. I was trying to throw a knuckler and it just got away from me a little bit."
