The Stars just announced their cuts/assignments, bringing the roster down to 35 for the weekend. Here's the rundown:
Trevor Ludwig will head to the Manitoba Moose and Tyler Shelast goes to the Hamilton Bulldogs, both of the American Hockey League. Forward John Lammers heads to the Idaho Steelheads in the East Coast Hockey League, while Lauri Tukonen goes back to Ilves Tampere in Finland. Jamie Benn goes back to the junior league (Kelowna of the Western Hockey League). Meanwhile, goaltender Joey Perricone, and defensemen Nolan Pratt and Matt Stephenson were released.
Coach Dave Tippett said the Stars would start getting more detail-oriented from here on out. I can't imagine how tricky the roster cutting process gets from here on out.
Meanwhile, Sergei Zubov is apparently working out in the therapy pool in Frisco. He was using crutches the other day but he was walking around without them today.
