The Stars are outshooting the Blackhawks 27-15, but the Hawks took advantage of the end of a power play to start the second and are now up 4-2. It was Toews once again on that one in what's proven to be a successful group on the power play (Toews, Kane, Campbell, Sharp and Brent Seabrook). Speaking of having a good night: Brian Campbell has assists on all four 'Hawks goals.
As for the Stars... the penalties have gone away, but this is obviously a game for those guys who just have a few more precious chances to make this team (or at least make a great impression that could come in handy later on this season).
The Stars did have a four-minute power play but didn't score (according to the broadcast, something might have been said between Avery and Andrew Ladd. Whatever the reason, Ladd ended up with a minor roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct for hitting Avery after the whistle).
So that's where we are, folks. Oh, Joel Lundqvist adds a goal this period, too. Chris Conner has assists on both Stars goals.
