First, great job by Matt Climie. The kid is making the Stars take a serious look at him, and it's hard to blame him much for the three goals that did get past him (more mistakes in front of him than anything else). He was only supposed to play part of this game, with Tobias Stephan taking the rest. But Climie stood out that much. Hmmmm....
Now, onto the not so good. The Stars have goal-scorers galore on this team, and they're not scoring a whole heck of a lot right now. Yes, it's preseason. But there's only two preseason games remaining, only a week before these start counting against you. Not that there was a shortage of shots. Mike Modano had four, as did Mike Ribeiro, and Jere Lehtinen had six. But it resulted in a whole lotta nada.
So what gives? You just wonder if some are still a little too much in preseason mode right now.
Brenden Morrow was out with a hip flexor/groin injury. Nothing terrible, just enough to bug him and the Stars aren't willing to risk anything with him. And don't count on seeing him tomorrow night against Chicago, either.
So I ask you, folks: Are you concerned?
