Sorry, forgot to add this earlier...
"I was probably more influential of bringing Sean here, given our past history together. I thought he was the type of guy our dressing room needed to light a little bit of a fire. Obviously it went a little overboard. For me it’s difficult because I feel more responsibility for having Sean here, but we’re not going to stop taking risks to make our team better, because sometimes you have to."
"Sean has admitted to some problems he has in his life -- and don’t assume that means drugs and alcohol, that’s not what it is -- but he has some issues he’s going to deal with. He’s going to seek some help to get the ball rolling to get those things taken care of so we don’t have to do this anymore, or anyone else doesn’t have to do this anymore. For me, you have to take care of the individual. I know him personally that he’s a good man."
"There will be apologies made more privately, sure phone calls to the people involved. He’s apologized publicly, and I think he means it. The reason we’re talking about this is there are issues he has to deal with. The inability to control is the main part of it."
Oh, and this one: "Anyone who tries to use him as an excuse for their poor play, I’m not sure I’d want them on my team. You put your own skates on and pull your own jersey over your head. There was no problem with on the ice. There are other things that need to be taken care of."
Now any quotes I've heard from Stars players have been more about Avery's shenanigans and things he's said; Modano said the other night that most of the parts of the game that were struggling, Avery wasn't a part of. Just clarifying there.
