The Stars are coming up with the bigger scoring chances in this one, outshooting the Sharks 19-12 in the first two periods. They were really pushing in the waning minutes. But so far, Evgeni Nabokov has stopped all. Still, you get a feeling the Stars have to get something out of this.
One thing they needed to get: a 5 on 3 goal. Nada. Can't let those opportunities go by, and I think I've written this too often this season about 5 on 3s. Missed chances against this team loom large. On the other end, the Stars' D is holding up well against the Sharks thus far. Not allowing much at all.
Almost a breakaway for James Neal, but great play by Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic to knock the puck off Neal's stick.
Bring on the third period.
