The Sabres were ready to make this a game, thanks to Jochen Hecht's goal from a beautiful Derek Roy pass at the 3:01 mark. But Brad Richards came up with the big goal the Stars needed just 48 seconds later.
An ugly Buffalo turnover gets scooped up by Richards, and he knocks this one high and tight into the corner to re-establish the Stars' two-goal lead at 3:49. Nicklas Grossman and Joel Lundqvist assist on Richards' goal.
