FRISCO, Tex. – The Dallas Stars announced today that the hockey club has signed right wing Colton Sceviour (pronounced seev-yore) to a three-year contract through the 2011-12 season. He will finish this season in the Western Hockey League with his current team – the Lethbridge Hurricanes and is scheduled to participate in the Stars’ 2009 Training Camp.
Sceviour, 19, was selected by Dallas in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 45 games this season for Lethbridge, scoring 21 goals and 31 assists for 52 points (1.16 points-per-game avg.) and a +8 rating. Over the past two seasons with Lethbridge, has combined to score 52 goals and 54 assists for 106 points with a +36 rating in 97 contests.
The 6-2, 200-pound winger leads Lethbridge in assists and points this season, while ranking second in goals. Sceviour’s 52 points are good for 14th in the WHL. He has 14 multiple-point games this season, including six contests with three-or-more points.
