The New York Post is reporting that Sean Avery will be placed on recall waivers Monday and that the Rangers hope he can be claimed by noon Tuesday.
Not sure why the wait, but the Stars are pretty much doing this when the Rangers want them to do it.
Avery needs to be on a team's roster by March 4 if he is going to eligible for the playoffs with that team, that's why something has to be done this week.
I know the Stars are just hoping anybody will take Avery, and if that anybody is the Rangers, so be it. But does anyone else have a problem with the fact Avery seems to be sending out the vibe that he will only play for the Rangers and that if any other team takes him, they might have problems?
Ah well, maybe Avery will be the perfect fit in New York and all will be right with this world.
