Sorry, I don't know what's scarier... A Friday the 13th or any Valentine's Day. Stupid holiday, totally invented by the card and candy companies IMO. I can see men collectively nodding their heads all around the blogosphere. Hey, guys, I'm here for ya.
But I digress. Rob Scichili of the Dallas Stars PR department sent the 411 on the Stars and this wonderful little day. Here are the stats:
The Dallas Stars are 4-1-0 on Friday the 13th since moving to North Texas in 1993, including a win in the 2007 playoffs at Vancouver (the last time the Stars played on a Friday the 13th). Dallas has won its last four Friday the 13th games. The rundown:
April 13, 2007 @ Vancouver, 2-0 win (Game 2 of West Quarterfinals)
Feb. 13, 2002 vs. Atlanta, 3-1 win
Nov. 13, 1998 @ Detroit, 5-1 win
Oct. 13, 1996 @ Chicago, 5-3 win
Mar. 13, 1994 @ New Jersey, 4-0 los
According to Wikipedia, the 13th day of the month is slightly more likely to be a Friday than any other day of the week. On average, there is a Friday the 13th once every 212.35 (212 and 241/688) days.
And who said we weren't educational?
So what are we thinking happens tonight, kids?

Sounds like the Stars are in alignment!
