OK, kids, entertain me for a minute. I got caught up doing some math, and curious of your thoughts on it.
Brad Richards, we know, is gone for 6-8 weeks. When he's been good, he's been very, very good. But he's had his share of off nights, too. He had 25 games this season in which he didn't record a point. Not a one. That included a six-game stretch at the start of December.
So here are my numbers: In those 25 games where Richards was point-less, the Stars went 9-14-2. That includes eight games in October/November (2-5-1), when the Stars couldn't buy a freakin' game because their defense and goaltending were terrible. Still, it's a reminder (just in case we needed one) of how valuable Richards can be.
So, seeing what the Stars have done with him in the lineup but not scoring, the question is: With him out, how do the Stars fare in the final 26 regular-season games? And who's your pick to pick up the slack?
