OK, I'm exaggerating here. Wasn't a big funfest this morning, but there was a pretty solid media contingency (local with no Cowboys action and Canada folks with the Edmonton connection).
Anyway, no big news to report, so it was just chatting about various topics. With Mark Fistric back, I asked Dave Tippett how he's done in his two games. Obviously the Chicago game isn't much of a judgment (bad game for all), but Tippett was happy with the youngster's outing in Columbus. You wonder how much Fistric's knee problem, which he took care of this winter, hampered him in training camp (that, and that mono he didn't fully get past him until July):
"That's part of it," coach Dave Tippett said of the knee problem. "But the way we started our year, young players felt a lot of pressure to contribute. Our team wasn’t very good and that put extra pressure on him. He worked hard in the minors and earned this chance to come back here. He’s a capable player for us and gives us a physical element. We’ll just see where he gets to."
