Hey folks,
Sorry I'm just getting to the blog this morning, but had to have some departing beverages with good friends in Columbus last night. I figure you all understand :)
Anyway, this is the Stars team we're used to seeing, eh? This group doesn't have that give-up mentality that we saw way too often earlier this season. Things could've gotten ugly in the second period (well, they did to a degree) but the Stars regrouped and pulled what could've been a chaotic mess back to a sizeable victory.
James Neal's second goal was definitely the turning point, and once again I'm impressed with how the young man has no problem stepping up and doing his job, regardless of his age. He landed a pretty good hit on a Columbus defenseman before getting to the goal, too. But both of his goals were the same: Get to the net, find the rebound and make the opposition pay. Great stuff, and it's scary to think what this kid could do in the next few seasons.
Steve Ott may never want to fight again... three goals in as many games. He was shaking his head at that post he hit on the open net (that was bizarre), but his response wasn't too shabby. Thought Loui Eriksson and Brian Sutherby had great games again last night. Just amazing to watch Eriksson gain and keep control of the puck. I know it's all on the stick with him, but he's also so good at using his body to shield the defender and protect. Mike Modano and his linemates were fabulous, too. Modano now has four assists in his last two games and still doesn't look like he's 38.
Aah, kids, I couldn't have asked for a more fun game as my swan song. I don't know what I'll be doing next, or where it will be. But thank you for being part of my contributions on the blog.

Tracey. Thanks for all of work on this blog and in all your of articles about the Stars.Good luck and best wishes in whatever you end up doing.
