This is why sports are fun

Sean Avery is not being treated fairly by the refs, according to the New York Post. Larry Brooks makes some great points in his column here, but the question is: How many people want to hear them? Brooks is right. Avery is a lightning rod exploited by the league and the media for PR. Of course, Avery also exploits himself, and turned that exploitation into a four-year $15.5 million contract. And that is the beauty of this issue. One way or another, you probably have an opinion on it. You can read this column, know Sean Avery, and either say he deserves the scrutiny or he doesn't. And that is why sports are fun. (OK, just one of the reasons) _Mike Heika
