Tom Wandell's season ended in Sweden Monday when Timra lost Game 7 of its first-round playoff series.
That means the Stars will bring him to North America.
The timing isn't perfect, as Wandell will get here just about the time Brad Richards will be testing his wrist and possibly returning to play. What's more, with Brendan Morrison and Steve Begin here, there really is no room for Wandell.
It would be great if the Stars could assign him to an AHL team and let him play there, but the rules won't allow that, according to Les Jackson.
So, he will practice with the team and is eligible to play in any Stars game.
It's a good thing for him.
Ray Sawada (upper body injury) still is out in Manitoba.
Jamie Benn looks like he is on a good team in Kelowna, so they could be in the WHL playoffs (and maybe even in the Memorial Cup) for a while.
