ALLEN, Texas - Chris Whitley, the Americans number one goaltender last year, will be doing a live show Saturday, July 24, at the open house at the Allen Event Center. Whitley will call in at noon to talk with Tommy Daniels, the voice of the Americans, and reveal his plans for next year. Fans unable to attend the open house will be able to listen to the show live on www.sportsjuice.com .
The netminder had an exceptional rookie season with the Americans in 2009-10. Whitley set three CHL playoff records, won his first game played in the American Hockey League, earned numerous accolades and took the Americans all the way to the Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Finals.
The Americans are partnering with the Tom Thumb Texas Stampede and Allen Event Center to host the open house this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Event Center. Attendees will be able to enter to win an Americans jersey autographed by 2002 Stanley Cup Champion and Americans Owner/President Steve Duchesne, as well as Tom Thumb Texas Stampede prize packages. There will also be free popcorn and bounce houses. Available seats for the Americans 2010-11 season, as well as for the Stampede's two-day event, will be tagged and available for purchase.
