The Stars are allowing Brent Krahn and Andrew Raycroft one full game apiece in the pre-season, and Brent Krahn gets his tonight.
He will be in net, while Raycroft will back him up. Kari Lehtonen is expected to get the other two full preseason games, so we won't expect to see Richard Bachman or Tyler Beskorowany in a pre-season appearance.
The expected lineup for tonight:
Brenden Morrow-Mike Ribeiro-Adam Burish
Fabian Brunnstrom-Jamie Benn-Tomas Vincour
Toby Petersen-Aaron Gagnon-Brandon Segal
Krys Barch-Travis Morin-Scott Glennie
Mark Fistric-Matt Niskanen
Trevor Daley-Philip Larsen
Trevor Ludwig-Jace Coyle
Loui Eriksson (hip flexor) skated and was a consideration for tonight, but was held out as a precaution.
Ray Sawada (knee) is skating and could play in a pre-season game next week.
Tom Wandell (shoulder) is skating but is not in contact drills. They hope to get him in at least one pre-season game.
The big story tonight will be Krahn, who probably needs a great performance to win this battle for the backup goalie spot. Raycroft has an edge with his NHL experience, and he's been the better of the two goalies in camp so far.
The other thing to watch is Adam Burish on the Ribeiro line. That spot still is wide open, and Burish is a right-handed shot, which Ribeiro loves. He has speed and grit, and that could work on that line. As we've seen with Steve Ott and Ribeiro and with players such as Alex Burrows in Vancouver, a grinder can be a good addition to a skill line if he's the right fit.
We'll get a glimpse tonight if Burish might be that fit.
