Dallas entered today's game against Tampa Bay at the Traverse City prospects tournament with a chance to play in the championship game. By getting a win and a Detroit loss, Dallas could advance to the first-place game on Wednesday. Instead, they took a 3-1 loss and are now 1-2-0 in the tournament. If Detroit beats St. Louis today, the Stars on Wednesday will play in the game for fifth place.
Dallas out-shot Tampa Bay, 36-31, but Lightning goalie Dustin Tokaraski allowed only a power play goal from Jace Coyle of the Stars with 14 seconds left in the game.
Jack Campbell (the 11th overall pick in 2010) started his second game in goal for the Stars and appeared to get better as the game went on. Still, he has allowed nine goals in the tournament so far.
