Jamie Benn did not practice again today and still is out due to ``concussion-like symptoms'' he suffered after being hit by Islanders defenseman James Wisniewski Saturday.
"I doubt that he'll play on Thursday (against Detroit). We're probably looking down the road, Saturday or possibly Monday,'' Crawford said. ``But it is a step in the right direction that he'll be doing some activity tomorrow."
Because Benn is on the protocol for a possible concussion, he has to first be passed for light exercise and then work up to a full practice.
``Jamie Benn is better today,'' Crawford said, adding that Stars trainer Dave Zeis said that Benn should be able to step things up on Wednesday. ``We'll wait and see in the morning but he's optimistic that (Benn) will be able to resume some activity. That's a step in the right direction."
Brad Richards returned to the ice after having a day off for rest and the lines looked like this:
James Neal-Brad Richards-Loui Eriksson
Brenden Morrow-Mike Ribeiro-Adam Burish
Brian Sutherby-Steve Ott-Toby Petersen
Fabian Brunnstrom-Tom Wandell-Brandon Segal
Nicklas Grossman-Stephane Robidas
Mark Fistric-Trevor Daley
Karlis Skrastins-Matt Niskanen
Krys Barch and Jeff Woywitka look like they could possibly be the odd-men out on Thursday, but there's still a day to tinker with the lineup.
Brenden Morrow was working on some drills with Fabian Brunnstrom after practice, so that was interesting.
