Because of some travel woes, newly acquired Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski was not able to make it in time for the morning skate today.
He is expected to be in town around noon and is expected to play tonight against New Jersey.
Stars coach Marc Crawford said they won't crush him with video teaching and will simply allow him to play his game.
``I don't think we're going to complicate it,'' Crawford said. ``A guy like him can skate himself out of trouble a lot, and hopefully he doesn't get in any.''
Jamie Benn is expected to play tonight after missing 10 games with a shoulder injury. He will likely play center until Brad Richards comes back from his concussion-like symptoms.
``He's shown how important a piece he is to us,'' Crawford said. ``I believe the depth of our scoring and the depth of our offensive players is one of the best things about our team this year. He gives us quality minutes and plays in all situations.''
Benn had four goals and five assists (9 points) in the six games before he was hurt.
Nicklas Grossman (hip) skated, but Crawford said he was still out for the next couple of days (I'm not sure if that means he can play in Detroit, but my guess would be no). Adam Burish (orbital bone) had the old college cage on today and said he would like to return Thursday against Detroit. Krys Barch (orbital bone) had the bubble cage on and also is close to returning.
