Here's Joe Nieuwendyk:
``Nothing happened, and I'm good with that. You look at our team and we've played well lately and now we're going to add Brad Richards and Nick Grossman, so we're pleased.''
``I think Brad will hopefully be a player for us in Anaheim. Nick probably not Friday, but some time during the trip.''
``In my mind, I wasn't going to move him unless somebody knocked our socks off with something we couldn't refuse. We've said all along that we want to sign Brad, and we still feel that way. We want to sign Brad Richards to be a Dallas Star for a long period of time.''
``I don't really want to talk about what transpired. Bottom line is, we're quite please to keep our team together the way it is.''
``He likes it here, he likes these guys, and he's going to play hard for us. Our position has not changed, and I don't think his has either. He likes it here, and we would like to have him, and we'll see where it goes. But those things are for down the road and the focus is on the games we have to play here.''
``I get a kick out of watching all of the media in Toronto especially saying who could use Brad Richards, well you know what, our team could use him too. We're sitting in a playoff spot, and it's not like we're sellers. We're trying to make the playoffs and make a run here ourselves, and when you add a player like Brad Richards who hasn't played for us in a while, and Nick Grossman, those are two good players adding to an already good team.''
``I don't think I was ever of the mindset that I should take what I could get. That's not what this is about. I believe in this group. I'm about winning right now and making the playoffs. That's very much an important thing for this franchise, and Brad Richads gives us our best chance of doing that.''
