Red Wings beat Chicago; Stars control fate

The Detroit Red Wings just beat the Chicago Blackhawks in Chicago, 4-3. That means the Stars will make the playoffs and play Vancouver in the first round if they simply beat Minnesota in regulation or overtime today. If the Stars lose or the game goes to a shootout, Chicago will play the Canucks. Wow, talk about an exciting end to the regular season. If the Stars get in, it would be a direct result of the rule change in the off-season where the league decided to reduce the value of shootout wins.
