Trevor's bad weekend

It's official: Trevor Daley will be so thankful for this weekend to be over it's not even funny.

He just made a massive blunder in the Stars' zone, a big, nasty turnover that Miroslav Satan easily scooped up and put past a defenseless Tobias Stephan at the 8:18 mark.

And by the way, is it just me or have the Stars played awful every time Tobias Stephan has been in goal?

Trevor, Trevor, Trevor...

Hey folks, it's Tracey from the home office today. Spent the morning and part of the afternoon at the Cowtown Marathon, so I'm just catching up to the Stars' game.

I love Trevor Daley, and I think he's made fabulous strides this season. But he's not doing the Stars many favors right now. Just got out of the box, right back in. The Stars have worked to get back into this one, and considering how valuable Daley has become this season, he needs to keep it clean the rest of the way.

Stars lead by three. Again

Trevor Daley comes on during a change, and his shot gets through as the Stars take a three-goal lead once again about two and a half minutes after the Blue Jackets had cut it to two.

Credit Toby Petersen for collecting the turnover in the other end, and instead of going to the net, which I thought would've been the good idea, he pulls it back, waits, and gets help. Darryl Sydor's first shot got it started, and Daley's shot looked somewhat harmless when he shot it, but apparently not.

Anyway, it's 6-3 with 10:12 remaining. Petersen and Sydor on the assists.

Ott scores

It's that line working again, and this time Steve Ott capitalizes on the work. There was a delayed penalty on the Thrashers, but Mike Ribeiro found Trevor Daley at the left point, and Daley made a pretty little pass to Ott, who had a clear look at the net. That's Ott, just 28 seconds into the second period.

Stars up 3-0

Another goal, another Stars defenseman doing the damage. The Sabres attempted a weak clearing pass, but Trevor Daley picked it up and just shot it toward net. Somehow it went in (don't know if Toby Petersen tipped it, or if it hit off a Sabre). So it's 3-0 Stars on the unassisted Daley goal at 2:47 of the second period.
