Playoffs for Botts

Okay, it's not the major league playoffs but Jason Botts and his Obregon teammates have a 2-0 series lead over Mochis in the first round of the Mexican Pacific League playoffs. Botts scored a run in a 5-3 victory Thursday night. He's been a star in the league, hitting .326 with nine homers and 54 RBI in 64 regular-season games. But Botts also struck out 65 times in 242 at-bats. He's going to have to put up those kind of power numbers in the spring with the Rangers if he hopes to stick with the club. But if he doesn't, at least it looks like he has another league to fall back on.
