Rangers release promotional slate

Five concerts and free tickets for children highlight the Rangers 2008 promotional schedule. Pre-game concerts by MercyMe (Aug. 2) and Third Day (April 12) will be joined by post-game shows from Robert Earl Keen (May 17) and the Eli Young Band (July 12). The fifth concert hasn't been determined.

Eleven Tuesday games have been deemed Free Kid Tuesdays, with children 13 and under getting in free with the purchase of an adult ticket. Those tickets are good in all sections and available every Tuesday but Opening Day and Aug. 5.

The Rangers will again have Dollar Dog Days and $1 ice cream days in addition to a real Dog Day (Aug. 17) and five fireworks nights.

As for the freebies, the target date looks to be May 16 when fans get the C.J. Wilson bobblehead. The Rangers are also giving out umbrellas July 13. Not sure how much use an umbrella will get in Arlington in July but you can't beat free.

Individual game tickets go on sale March 7.
