Chilly baseball

The season opener was played without interruption, thanks to what Michael Young called "a really big umbrella." But some Rangers players took note of the snow that fell around the sixth inning as well as the temperatures that dropped around the same time.

One clue that it was too cold? People could see their breath, including members of the media who had assembled at Safeco Field's open-air press box.

There will be more of the big chill tonight with a 7:10 p.m. local first pitch. The low temperature is expected to settle around 35 with a high of 52 during the day. There is no threat of precipitation.
