Mariners All-Star closer J.J. Putz has landed on the 15-day disabled list with inflamed cartilage in his rib cage after injuring himself Tuesday night on a pitch to Michael Young. Putz struck out Young, then surrendered a two-run homer to Josh Hamilton that lifted the Rangers to a 5-4 victory.
