Hamilton ejected

Center fielder Josh Hamilton was ejected in the sixth inning after he objected when third base umpire Dale Scott ruled on appeal that Hamilton did not check his swing and struck out.

Hamilton showed Scott where the he stopped the bat, then waved is left hand as Scott and turned away. Scott waived back, and plate ump Bill Hohn tossed Hamilton.

Manager Ron Washington came onto the field for an explanation as to why his best hitter was removed from the game. Brandon Boggs is now hitting fourth and playing left field. Marlon Byrd moved from right to center, and David Murphy moved from left to right.

The game is tied at 1-1.
