The Rangers have a 7-5 lead over the White Sox after four innings.
Right-hander Dustin Nippert, who relieved starter Matt Harrison in the third, got out of a jam. With one-out and runners on second and third, Nippert got Jermaine Dye to strike out. After an intentional walk to Jim Thome to load the bases, Nippert got an inning-ending fly out from Paul Konerko to escape with no damage.
In the bottom half, the Rangers went down 1-2-3 against White Sox starter Jose Contreras.
