Angels 3, Rangers 1

Replays shown in the press box were inconclusive, but the Rangers say Torii Hunter took away a two-run homer with a leaping catch on a Marlon Byrd blast in the seventh inning. That helped the Angels secure a second straight victory to start a four-game series. Ervin Santana was solid for eight innings, and Francisco Rodriguez blew through the heart of the Rangers' order in the ninth for save No. 52.
