Rangers lose 8-1

At least they avoided the shutout with a pro-Boston crowd in front of just over 30,000 at the Ballpark. Nelson Cruz' ninth-inning single saw to that. But the Red Sox pounded out 12 hits and continued to abuse the Rangers. Boston is now 8-0 against Texas this season, and has to be looking forward to the final two games Saturday and Sunday. If the Red Sox go on and make the playoffs, the Rangers should get an assist.
