Coaching decisions next week

General manager Jon Daniels said he expects to conduct interviews for the vacancies on manager Ron Washington's coaching staff late next week.

The Rangers have not asked permission of other clubs to contact potential candidates, Daniels said. Astros bench coach Jackie Moore, a longtime friend of Nolan Ryan, fits that category.

Among those not currently employed who the Rangers might have contacted are Perry Hill as an infield instructor and a possibility as the third-base coach, and Rick Peterson as pitching coach. Hill has been out of baseball the past two seasons, and Peterson was fired by the Mets in June.
