Hamilton honored by peers

Center fielder Josh Hamilton has been named the American League Outstanding Player by a vote of major leaguers for the Players Choice Awards.

Hamilton hit .304 with 32 home runs and 130 RBI. The Players Choice Awards annually recognize the best player, pitcher, rookie and comeback player in each league.

St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols was named the NL Outstanding Player.
