Josh Hamilton has been named the Rangers player of the year. Hamilton will be honored at the Sluggers of the West banquet, which is Jan. 23, 2009, at Eddie Deen's Ranch in Dallas. Hamilton was selected by area members of the Baseball Writer's Association of America.

Tables of eight, which include a Rangers celebrity, are $400 for season ticket holders and $500 for non-season ticket holders.
