GM meetings: Day 2

Time here at the St. Regis Resort Monarch Beach, where a beer is rumored to go for the princely sum of $11, is drawing to a close. That's good news for Scott Boras, who has to be on the verge of going hoarse.

He talks at length with the media, in between talking at length with various clubs. He took time today to say how glad he was with the election results Tuesday and how important it is to improve the education system. Really. I'd post it here, except he put my tape record to sleep.

He took a moment to discuss some of his less-notable clients -- including Rangers catcher Gerald Laird. Boras said Laird is training at Boras Sports Training Institute in Newport Beach, Calif., and the expectation is that Laird will be catching every day in 2009.
