Rangers shortstop Michael Young has been named the American League's Gold Glove winner, the first such award of his career. He led the AL with a .984 fielding percentage, which trailed only Jimmy Rollins in the majors. The Phillies' shortstop won the NL Gold Glove on Wednesday.
The truly remarkable nugget about the award is that Young is the first winner from a team that had the lowest fielding percentage in the majors. The Rangers have scheduled a news conference for later this afternoon in Dallas.
