The Rangers have potentially completed their deal with Boston for Wes Littleton, acquiring right-hander Beau Vaughn. (See his good-looking mug shot here.) The Rangers could still acquire another player from the Red Sox if Littleton makes the big-league roster.
Vaughan features a fastball and slider. He throws strikes and is coming off a good effort in the Arizona Fall League, said general manager Jon Daniels. Vaughan has not received an invitation to big-league camp but is a candidate.
Prized prospects Neftali Feliz and Derek Holland have been invited. First baseman Nate Gold is a minor-league free agent who has been advised to seek opportunities elsewhere.
