The Rangers have signed right-handed reliever Casey Daigle, who pitched last season for the Twins' Triple-A Rochester club, to a minor-league deal. Daigle was 1-5 with a 3.78 ERA in 44 games/69 innings. He last pitched in the majors in 2006 with the Diamondbacks.
A first-round choice in 1999, Daigle is big (6-foot-6, 240 pounds) and from Lake Charles, La. Perhaps his biggest accomplishment in his 27 years is his marriage to softball star Jennie Finch. Here is a picture of the happy couple -- who have a son named Ace -- and here she is pitching to Alex Rodriguez at Rangers spring training a few years back.
