According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette here, http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08347/934639-63.stm, the Pirates have reached a two-year deal with Ramon Vazquez. It's for $4 million. Vazquez played two solid years with the Rangers, but he'll be replaced by a younger, cheaper German Duran. That's good news for fans of the former TCU, Paschal and Weatherford College product. Duran hit .260 in 60 games with the Rangers last year. Vazquez hit .290 last season with a career-high 40 RBI. Speaking of Duran, he's on a seven-game hitting streak for his winter league team in Mexico.
