The Rangers have agreed to minor-league deals with free agents Brian Gordon and Joe Torres, and both have been invited to big-league spring training.
Gordon pitched for Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Oklahoma before making his big-league debut in September
Torres, a left-hander, pitched for the White Sox Double-A team last season and will compete with Kason Gabbard to be the second lefty in the Rangers' bullpen. That's kind of newsy: Gabbard, the fourth starter at the start of 2008, appears headed for a bullpen spot.
