The Rangers made several changes in their scouting department Friday, including moving Jake Krug from the manager of baseball operations to East Coast crosschecker. The team also promoted Russ Ardolina and Mike Anderson to professional scout. Rick Matsko has been transferred to be the Mid-Atlantic scout with Jay Heafner hired as the Northeast Area scout. Pedro Avila was hired to be the Venezuelan scout. He worked with the Mariners organization and helped in the signing of Felix Hernandez. The organization also hired Joel Randa as an International scout and promoted Matt Klotsche to professional scouting assitant.
