The Rangers didn't offer right-hander Doug Mathis a contract Friday before the non-tender deadline. That doens't mean Mathis' days with the Rangers are done. The club expects to sign Mathis to a minor league contract. By not offering Mathis a deal, the Rangers now have 39 players on the 40-man roster. Mathis went 1-2 with the Rangers in four starts before having his season cut short by shoulder inflammation.
