Rangers, Byrd agree

The Rangers avoided salary arbitration with outfielder Marlon Byrd when they agreed to a one-year, $3.06-million contract. Byrd had sought $3.6 million, and the Rangers countered with $2.7 million.

The Rangers have signed each of their four arbitration-eligible players.
