World calls, not many Rangers answer

The provisional 45-man rosters for the World Baseball Classic have been set, and only three Rangers are listed as potential participants. They are: Frank Catalanotto for Italy, Luis Mendoza for Mexico, and Max Ramirez for Venezuela. Catalanotto played for Italy in 2006.

The Rangers' best chance for a Team USA player, Josh Hamilton, said in December that he wanted to stay at spring training to concentrate on the 2009 season rather than play in the WBC. Michael Young played for the U.S. in 2006.
