John Buck and Coco Crisp hit solo home runs off Derek Holland as Kansas City jumped to a 2-0 lead in the third. Holland, a left-hander, retired all three left-handed hitters he faced but didn't get an right-handed hitters. He issued walks to Tony Pena Jr. and Jose Guillen, who rarely walk. Holland, though, hit 95 on the radar gun.
The Rangers just scored a run on a wild pitch and trail 2-1 with Willie Eyre coming on to pitch.
