Second baseman Ian Kinsler won't play today against the Los Angeles Dodgers because of a bruise on his left foot. German Duran will replace Kinser and hit in the leadoff spot.
The injury is considered minor -- Kinsler took batting practice and appeared fine -- and he will be evaluated Saturday. He wasn't on the travel squad for the Rangers' game Saturday against the White Sox.
Kinsler fouled a ball off his foot Thursday and was removed for pinch-runner Duran in the sixth inning of a 9-1 win over Seattle. Kinsler went 2-for-3 to raise his spring average to .357.
