Rangers 7, Giants 5 (10 innings)

Kris Benson might have solidified a spot in the starting rotation, Andruw Jones strengthened his bid to be the final player on the bench, and David Murphy hit a two-run homer as the Rangers beat the Giants.

Benson allowed three runs on six hits in six innings. He struck out two, walked none and needed only 79 pitches.

"I've done everything they've asked me to do," Benson said. "I just can't do much more."

Manager Ron Washington said he wants Benson in the rotation, but Washington isn't the only person involved in the final decision.
