Two spring stars continued with their exploits as Brandon McCarthy and Josh Hamilton continued their strong exhibition showings. McCarthy pitched four hitless innings and hasn't allowed a run in his last eight innings. Hamilton went 3 for 3 to raise his average to .439 this spring. One of those hits was a bunt single in the first inning. Nelson Cruz followed with a three-run homer. Opponents are now hitting .091 against McCarthy, who dropped his spring ERA to 1.80.

Impressive showing for McCarthy. Maybe we will get something out of that trade after all.
