Texas Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler has been named the American League Co-Player of the Week for April 13-19. He shares the honor with Kansas City Royals pitcher Zack Greinke.
Kinsler batted .556 (15-27) with two home runs, four doubles, a triple, nine runs scored and six RBI in six games last week, posting a .500 on-base percentage and an .864 slugging mark. He also went 6-for-6 while hitting for the cycle in the Rangers’ 19-6 win on Wednesday against Baltimore. He became the first major league player in the modern era to produce a 6-hit cycle in a 9-inning game.
