Josh Hamilton will have surgery Tuesday morning in Philadelphia to repair a partial tear in his abdominal muscle. Hamilton will miss four to six weeks. "Given what it could have been, I think it's probably better than what some of the alternatives are," general manager Jon Daniels said. "I think this team has done a very good job of playing early in the season either without Josh or without Josh at 100 percent. We really haven't had what you expect from a healthy Josh Hamilton yet."
Left-hander Matt Harrison will throw a bullpen today and he could start Thursday. If he doesn't, the Rangers will go with Derek Holland. Closer Frank Francisco is a game-time decision.
